Hot Diggity Dog! The Barks for Parks Fundraiser is Back for a Second Year!

The Barks for Parks fundraiser provides a day of fun for dogs and their people and also raises money for upgrades, expansion, and special projects at Dane County Dog Parks.

MADISON, WI – August 21, 2018 - In honor of Dane County Dog Parks, Wisconsin Brewing Company is hosting the "Barks for Parks!" celebration at their facility in Verona on August 25, 2018 from Noon to 4:00 pm. This afternoon of fun will include live music, food, and entertainment for both two- and four-legged friends and family. Proceeds from this celebration will support Dane County Dog Parks and be used for upgrades, expansion, and special projects.

Last year, Barks for Parks raised over $7,000 which helped fund a new shade sail for the Capital Springs Recreation Area Dog Park. This year, event organizers hope to raise money for additional exciting projects that will improve the experience for dog park visitors.

This year’s Barks for Parks activities include: a kids & pups storytime, dog yoga (tickets must be purchased in advance on the Barks for Parks website), an adoptable dog parade, a fido photo booth, a treibball activity, bobbing for hotdogs and a long list of exhibitors, vendors and local rescue groups. There will also be food for sale and live music by Down from the Hills, a local bluegrass band.

Please note that dogs must be on a 6’ static leash and be current on vaccinations. Dogs must be people and animal friendly.  Please check out the complete list of "Barks for Parks!" Dog Rules for the event.

About Dane County Dog Parks

Dane County Parks was one of the first park systems in the United States to develop designated off-leash pet exercise areas and has been used as a model for other systems across the United States. We now have seven off-leash dog parks to choose from, each with its own unique features.
