Pleasant Springs Fatality Crash

Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash at 2055 CTH N in the town of Pleasant Springs at approximately 7:40 am.

 

Victoria Bennett, age 44 of Madison, was driving a Mercury Mountaineer southbound on CTH N, when she lost control on the slippery highway and slid into the northbound lane.  The SUV was then struck by a northbound snow plow pick-up truck operated by Mark Halverson, age 43.

 

A 35-year-old male from Chicago who was a front seat passenger in the Mountaineer was pronounced dead at the scene.  A 7-year-old boy, also a passenger in the Mountaineer was transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital with serious injuries.  The two drivers were transported to local hospitals by EMS. 

 

The name of the deceased will be released by the Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office after his family has been notified.
