Fatal Crash

At 6:57 am, Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a two-car crash on US Highway 51 in the Village of Windsor.

The driver of a northbound vehicle lost control, crossing the center line and striking a southbound vehicle head-on. Both drivers, an 85-year-old man and a 44-year-old woman, were pinned and sustained serious injuries. They were both transported by EMS to UW Hospital, where a short time later, the man died.

US Highway 51 was closed for approximately three and a half hours.
