Sheriff's Office
The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming a new class of deputies. Seven deputies will be sworn in by Sheriff Kalvin Barrett on Monday, May 13th, at 1:30 pm in the Dane County Courthouse, Jury Assembly Room. They are:
Trystan Cator, 21, of Milwaukee
Richard Felger, 53 of Beloit
Jamison Hoff, 29, of DeForest
Elijah Kelly, 27, of Madison
Angel Tello Escobedo, 24 of Port Washington
Matthew Schroeder, 23, of Janesville
Ryan Zinkle, 41, of Mount Horeb
The group brings various experiences and backgrounds to the Sheriff’s Office, two with previous law enforcement experience. Depending on their prior level of training, new deputies will attend the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Jail and/or Law Enforcement Academies and receive on-the-job training. Their first assignment will be in the Dane County Jail, where they will serve a two-year probationary period. The positions became available due to retirements and vacancies that occurred in the past year. The Dane County Sheriff’s Office continually recruits for deputy and civilian positions to fill vacancies as they happen. Applications can be found online at www.teamdane.com. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply.
