School Bus vs Car Crash

At 3:58 pm on Thursday, January 5, Dane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a school bus vs car crash at US Highway 12 and Oak Park Road in the town of Deerfield.

The bus was traveling southbound on Oak Park Road and failed to yield at the stop sign at the intersection of Oak Park and Highway 12. A 2004 Honda Accord going westbound on US Highway 12 hit the bus, pinning the vehicle’s driver inside. The 66-year-old female was extricated from the vehicle and transported by Deer-Grove EMS to UW Hospital. The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time.

The driver of the school bus, a 74-year-old man from Waterloo, was issued a citation for Failure to Yield from a Stop Sign. No children were on the bus at the time of the crash.
