The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death in the Town of Oregon. Around 5pm, on Wednesday, June 8, 2022, Deputies were called to the intersection of CTH MM and CTH A for a report of a deceased individual off the side of the road, in a ditch. Detectives will be canvassing the area and CTH MM will be shut down for several hours, while the scene is being processed.

The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s assistance in gathering any information related to this incident.  Anyone who may have information to provide is asked to contact the Dane County Communication Center non-emergency line at 608-255-2345 or the Dane County Sheriff’s Tips Line at 608-284-6900.  All callers can remain anonymous.

***VEHICLE SEARCH UPDATE***

Madison, WI. June 9, 2022—The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the death of the individual found in the ditch near CTH MM and CTH A in the Town of Oregon on June 8, 2022.

Sheriff’s detectives are looking for a 1996-2002 Chevrolet Express van which may have been in the area on June 7, 2022 in the late evening.  The van is similar to the body-style in the attached photographs.  It may recent have front-end, passenger side and windshield damage. If anyone has information regarding the owner, driver or location of a similar vehicle, please contact the Dane County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center at 608-255-2345 or the Dane County Sheriff’s Tip Line at 608.284-6900. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the deceased, when their examination is complete and family is notified.
